Today Giovanni Capriglione, candidate for Texas House District 98, congratulated his opponent on her recent award from one of the most left leaning organizations in Texas.
Texas Impact, the group who awarded Vicki Truitt, is an organization primarily backed by liberal Democrats. “The voters of House District 98 see Vicki Truitt as out of touch with her constituents. The fact that she aligns with a group whose leaders have a history of opposing traditional marriage, opposing bills that dealt with illegal immigration, and expanding government welfare highlights the fact that she doesn’t align with the values of our district.” commented Giovanni.
Tim Tutt a member of Texas Impact’s Executive Committee gave money to “No Nonsense in November” an organization that advocated against traditional marriage in 2005. Committee member Patrick Schexnayder gave money to Travis County Democrats multiple times, contributed to Capitol Area Democrat Women and several Democrat candidates. Committee member Ellen Sable gave money to the anti-traditional marriage group “No Nonsense in November” and other committee members including the Executive Committee’s President have given to Democrat candidates.
Giovanni further commented by saying “An organization that applauds Barack Obama for stopping the Keystone XL project is not someone conservatives should look to for their accolades. We need a true conservative representing our values not a Republican who is rewarded by liberals.”
